I am a licensed professional counselor and lifelong educator working with children, teens, adults and families to support developmental, social and emotional wellness.

I bring an integrative and relationship-based approach to counseling along with skills, knowledge and life experience to help individuals deepen understanding of themselves and others, face challenging life transitions and endeavors, and build meaningful and successful relationships.

I seek to create a safe space for clients in an affirming, culturally sensitive space that welcomes and celebrates neurodiversity and people of all racial, ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic and spiritual backgrounds. I specialize in family therapy and individual clients of all ages who experience anxiety, emotional and attentional dysregulation and grief.

My therapeutic practice is strongly rooted in

  • Internal Family Systems

  • Polyvagal Theory

  • DIR/Floortime Therapy

  • Trauma Informed Care

  • Social-Justice Orientation

  • LGBTQIA+ Affirmation

  • Mindfulness

I spent most of my career as an educator with 20+ years in teaching, leadership, program development, parent education and teacher training.

  • As Head of School at The Connections School of Atlanta, I had the honor of combining my love for education and counseling in building a neurodiverse high school with incredible teens, educators and families.

  • I helped create communities of inclusion, respect and advocacy as Director of Education at International Montessori Academy, Floortime Therapist at Hirsch Academy, Young Children's Community Coordinator at Atlanta Montessori International School, and Resource Specialist at The Children's School of Atlanta.

  • I learned about the impact of poverty, inequality, systemic racism and trauma as well as the importance of social and emotional wellness for academic learning as an elementary teacher in rural public schools in Texas and Georgia.

I live in Decatur, Georgia with my spouse and the youngest of our three children as well as our two dogs.  I enjoy reading, traveling, photography and spending time in nature and with close friends.  I continually strive to be a social justice ally for those most vulnerable in our society due to race, gender identity, age, ability, or socio-economic status through advocacy, integrity, empathy and engagement.
